Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: 11 May 2026
1. How to request deletion
To delete your account and the data associated with it, send us an email:
- Email: support@cholosathi.com
- Subject line: Account deletion request
- Include in the email body:
- The phone number registered on your Cholo Sathi account.
- The email address registered (if you signed in with Google).
- Whether you use the customer app (Cholo Sathi) or the driver app (Cholo Sathi Partner).
We may contact you on the registered phone or email to verify your identity before processing the request — this prevents anyone else from deleting your account.
2. How long it takes
- Acknowledgement: within 48 hours of receiving your email.
- Account deletion completed: within 30 days of identity verification.
3. What data is deleted
On verification, we delete the personal information tied to your account, including:
- Your name, phone number, email, and profile photo.
- Saved addresses, language preference, and notification settings.
- FCM push-notification tokens for your devices.
- Posted routes, lead activity, and search history.
- Reviews and ratings you have left on driver-partner profiles. Reviews you have received as a driver-partner are deleted along with your profile.
- For driver-partners: KYC documents (driving licence, registration certificate, identity card, selfie) and vehicle details, except where law requires longer retention (see §4).
- Referral codes you generated and your subscription status.
4. What data we keep, and why
A small set of records is retained after account deletion, only as long as needed for the stated purpose:
- Transaction logs and invoices: kept for up to 8 years to comply with Indian tax and accounting requirements.
- KYC documents: kept for the minimum period required by applicable Indian transport and KYC regulations (typically up to 5 years after the relationship ends).
- Anonymised, aggregated analytics: e.g. counts of searches per region. This data cannot be linked back to you and is retained indefinitely.
- Records of past complaints or disputes: kept until the matter is resolved and any limitation period has passed.
After these retention periods end, the remaining records are either deleted or further anonymised.
5. Re-using the same phone or email later
Once your account is deleted, you can sign up again using the same phone number or Google email. The new account starts fresh — none of your previous data is restored.
6. Questions
If you have questions about this process, email support@cholosathi.com. For broader data-protection rights and how we handle your information, see the Privacy Policy.
